Brighton & Brighton Beach ELC

“The established childcare and early learning centre Brighton ELC engaged us for a rebrand that would coincide with their interior renovations, led by the team at Christopher Elliott Design.

“There was an overwhelming opportunity to differentiate both Brighton & Brighton Beach ELC centres from the sea of expected competitor branding. Both centres are located close to Brighton Beach’s iconic beach boxes, and provided ideal inspiration. Being bayside centres, we also referenced historic maritime flags, and their geometric forms.”

Bambora

“Bambora is a payment-services company with over 100 000 customers, primarily in Canada, Australia and the Nordic region. The company began as a merger between 7 fintech startups. Bambora grew quickly because of the merger, resulting in an inconsistent brand and visual expression.

“We were commissioned to develop a new brand strategy and visual identity that better reflects what the company is today. We refined and strengthened Bambora’s core values; Passionate, Collaborative and Responsible. Using these values as a basis, we designed a new identity that feels more consistent, giving Bambora a clear voice that is both friendly and reliable.

“A new typeface and grid system was introduced, along with a refined color and material palette. Dynamic backgrounds and illustrations were added to the graphic toolbox. We also designed packaging, stationery and printed matter such as technical guides for Bambora’s payment terminals. Bold typography was used together with contrasting materials such as metallic foil and craft paper.”

The Alexandria

“The Alexandria is a bespoke collection of 43 new one-, two- and three-bedroom condominiums in the Richmond District of San Francisco. The four-storied Alexandria building has been meticulously designed to elevate the living experience in one of San Francisco’s most historic and vibrant neighborhoods.

“The identity was inspired by the graceful Art Deco architecture of the adjacent Alexandria Theatre. Copper foil stamping and a dark grey/brown color palette were derived from the historic Theatre and the architecture of the new condominiums. Mucho was tasked with creating the identity, sales brochure, sales website, email campaigns and sales collateral.”

Lumik

“Lumik is a brand new lighting design and manufacturing company with more than 65 years of experience behind it. Founded in Barcelona in 2016, it is the result of a partnership between the traditional metalworking company run by brothers Francesc and Ferran Martí, and interior designer and art director, Frank Domínguez.

“Inspired by the latest trends and particularly by the needs of its customers, Lumik has a visual identity that reflects both its trendsetter character as well as its made-on-demand nature.

“The result is a visual identity based on numerous colours that reflects all the possibilities the brand offers to its clients by creating customized lighting. The specially designed typography is a stencil font that symbolizes individual LED light sticks.”

Marion

“It’s early 2015, and Chef Andrew McConnell has yet another project on the boil. He wants to open a casual wine bar next to his flagship venue, Cutler & Co, envisioning an informal, wine-focused space that would complement Cutler’s more elevated offer.

“The identity would need to respond to the location’s urban context and elegantly communicate a different intention to that of its neighbouring sibling venue. Starting with the name (taken from Marion Lane at the rear of the site) our identity then took cues from local street signs and the history of the location on Gertrude street.

“Working closely with architect, Iva Foschia (IF Architecture) to understand how the entire space would come together, we collaboratively refined the vision for the bar and how patrons would interact with it. The result is now a regular haunt for locals; a place that feels comfortably woven into the neighbourhood, like it’s always been there.”

Decibel Architecture

“Over the last decade, Dylan Brady has built a reputation as one of Australia’s most formidable architectural minds. A founding partner of Studio 505, his projects are known for being bold, radical, and boundary-pushing; much like his high-volume personality. So when he decided to set up shop under his own name, we knew that this practice needed an equally powerful strategic vision and visual identity to match.

“Decibel Architecture, or dB(A), was settled on as a name; a nod to both the technical shorthand for a unit of sound, as well as a riff on the acronymic naming conventions of most architectural practices. From here, we set about defining a purpose and values for the firm, in close collaboration with the man himself. For Dylan, it was about imagination, play, and adventure beyond the possible.”
