Playground

“Playground is a unique combination of venture fund and start-up studio that’s taking a fresh, hands-on approach to mentoring the next generation of entrepreneurs. The founding partners have many impressive product launches under their belts and they’ve seen first hand the places where start-ups fail. They founded Playground with the goal of removing the typical operational burdens of developing new products and freeing entrepreneurs to focus on what makes their idea great.

“They also wanted to get involved, not just with money but with their time and their expertise. Playground funded companies are invited to come work alongside the founders and a team of experts at the Playground studio. The entire space was designed to enable, enhance and foster creativity and help ideas come to life. ”

Humo

“Humo is a communication agency founded by two Argentine philophers. They write about many diverse topics, the brand itself has a slighty subversive personality, specially due to the intangible nature of the services it provides.

“We literally represent Humo (smoke) in a peculiar typographic treatment, the smoke spreads all over the clean stationary.

“The strong symbol and the 3-tone-color palette are combined with big white spaces in order to allow and clear the essence communications of the brand.”

Silesia Theatre

“Nowe logo Teatru Śląskiego przywodzić ma na myśl trzy jego odrębne sceny, których różnorodny repertuar oddaje artystyczne spektrum instytucji. Zaproponowany znak graficzny ma wiele konotacji:
— skojarzenia z czerwoną różą — eleganckim motywem kwiatowym, nawiązującym do tradycji modernistycznych,
— zazębiające się wielokąty nadają sygnetowi dynamiczny i industrialny charakter dominujący w naszym regionie, kształt trzech brył nawiązujący do jednego z największych bogactw Śląska — węgla,
— wielokąty przyjmują też kształt kalejdoskopu — optycznego, magicznego urządzenia, przez które można podglądać nierzeczywiste obrazy, specyficzny spektakl barw i kształtów.”

Food Surfing

“Branding and packaging for a dynamic and ambitious food spreads industry.

“It was the vision of the company to surf on flavors that draw us to the brand name. We designed the logo being eye witnesses of a relationship grown-up between a surfboard and a cutlery in the theater of the production circle, while the waves claim the center of the design in order to emphasize the spread character of the products. The colors of the corporate identity picked up by the painting of the headquarters.”

John Dolan

“New York-based photographer John Dolan specializes in interior and architectural photography. He combines advanced lighting techniques and large-format photography with digital imaging. John’s approach yields images that authentically capture spaces, structures, and designs. Basing the logo on the form and shape of his 4×5 camera bellows, we created a mark that is geometric, spacial, and iconic to his media. The repeating pattern of the bellows icon also mimics the abstract forms of his initials. Condensed typography balances the tall and compressed forms of the logo creating a uniquely custom mark.”

Insider Guides

“Insider Guides are a series of free, annual guides, given to prospective and current international students. They are designed to equip international students with the tools to enjoy Australia on their terms.

“Our intention with these guides was to create something different to the conventional student guide. Instead we sought to design a collectable piece that students would enjoy and hold onto. For the vibrant illustrations we enlisted the help of illustrators we admire, Andrew Fairclough of Kindred Studio and MUTI. The layout complements the rest of the branding, using a strong grid system and a single tone colour system to differentiate sections and editions. Our hope that the Guides evoke the excitement and sense of adventure, that moving to a new country brings.”
