Subisú

“Subisú is an ice cream and popsicles brand. The graphic concept is inspired on the naivety of children, when they still believe in impossible things. We designed an icon based on these fantasies.

“The name is a combination of two ideas, on one hand, it was inspired on a sweet French song that repeats “Bisou Bisou”, and on the other hand, its also a game of the word “subibaja” (seesaw), where our main character plays with a balloon.

“The combination of texture, colors and materials tell the story of a handmade Mexican product.

“Subisú, a brand inspired on children cravings that last forever.”

Artefactory

“Artefactory is a concept store that offers a selection of design products from different brands that have in common the fact that they all solve usual problems in a very inventive way. At the same time, it has a little restaurant inspired on a soda fountain. The general concept is based on being an industrial factory + toy shop, with a little bit of fiction.

“Our graphic solution was inspired on that fantasy. We designed an emblem based on a character that seems to be taken from the imagination of a little boy but it’s real, Laika, the Russian dog that was the first animal to orbit the Earth.

“We also designed a special typography for the project with a very experimental technic, seeking to reflect the artistic aspect of this place.”

Lunada

“Lunada is a brand-new concept of apartments in Playa del Carmen. Our main objective was to communicate that the Mexican Caribbean is much more than white sand and a transparent sea. The Caribbean is vegetation, music, flavors and it offers a lifestyle that is impossible to understand unless you are there.

“In this occasion, apart from the branding, editorial, collateral design and website, we worked on the interior design of the sample apartment. This allowed us to expand the branding until its limits, turning it into materials and construction finishes, distribution, lightning, textiles, furniture and decorative objects.

“Developing the interior design based on the branding, makes easier the selling, because once the potential clients are inside the apartment, they can truly experience the whole concept.”

Bowery Lane

“Combining rustic charm with shared, farm fresh food and delicious cocktails; the Bowery Lane concept was born. Bowery Lane is based on ‘The Bowery’, which is the oldest thoroughfare on Manhattan Island. Named in the latter 17th century by Dutch settlers as Bouwerij Road, (an early Dutch word for farm), it connected farmlands and estates on the outskirts to the heart of the city in today’s Wall Street and Battery Park area. ‘Bowery Lane’ was the street’s name until 1807. Working closely with Gensler, who developed the architecture, interiors and logo mark, we expanded the visual identity by creating a family of illustrations in a style that evoked The Bowery’s farm history. We employed a sketchy style of illustration, influenced by etchings in early news prints. We created a complete style guide that utilises an adaptable, modular grid system, combining the illustrations with sleek, modern typography. We designed and produced a full suite of letterpress printed stationery, lasercut menu boards, packaging, a fully responsive website and even a temporary mural.”

retour

retour is a furniture manufacturing studio to create furniture designs and restore antique furniture. I designed the studio logo, business card, and WEB site. ”retour” means ”regeneration/recurrence” in French. It is named with such word because we want to build ”a furniture with long-lasting usage” by using good quality timbers that could be recycled even after the disassembly. I was inspired by the concept and created a logo mark as a scene of wood assembly. Thick paper with strong texture processed by typographical printing was used for the business card and provides a feeling of warm hand-made touch through the card.”
